Camping, an escape from urban bustle to embrace nature, is emerging as a new global lifestyle trend. In the post-pandemic era, people’s desire to get close to nature has grown, driving up demand for outdoor products. From international OEM manufacturing to industrial upgrading, Ningbo’s outdoor products industrial cluster has nurtured a number of well-known domestic brands with both high quality and refined aesthetics, steadily increasing their share in the global market.
According to iiMedia Research, in 2021, the core market size of China’s camping economy reached 74.75 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 62.5%; the driven market scale reached 381.23 billion yuan, up 59% year on year. The core market size of China’s camping economy is expected to rise to 248.32 billion yuan by 2025, with the driven market reaching 1.44028 trillion yuan. The global outdoor leisure products market enjoys broad development prospects.
To promote the sound development of the outdoor products industry and expand international market share, the 2025 Ningbo International Outdoor Products Expo will be held from September 11 to 13 at the Ningbo International Conference & Exhibition Center. Relying on Ningbo’s complete industrial chain and strong foreign trade advantages, the expo aims to build an efficient international trade platform for the outdoor products industry.

As a sub-provincial city and a key node city of the Belt and Road Initiative, Ningbo is the economic center on the southern wing of the Yangtze River Delta and a transportation hub in eastern Zhejiang. Facing Shanghai across the bay, it serves as an extension and supplement to Shanghai’s foreign trade. Ningbo Port also provides a convenient maritime outlet for Yiwu’s foreign trade. In 2022, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port handled 1.224 billion tons of cargo, ranking first worldwide for 13 consecutive years, with a container throughput of 31.08 million TEUs, continuing to rank third globally.
According to the city’s foreign trade data released by Ningbo Customs on March 14, Ningbo’s total foreign trade export value reached 119.98 billion yuan in the first two months of this year. In the national ranking of urban import and export volume, Ningbo rose from 6th to 5th place.
